Want a simple way to increase your endurance? The answer is increased frequency and intensity…of your musical selections! New research from Brunel University found that “scientifically-selected” music increased endurance by as much as 15% among participants who completed cardio workouts as they listened to rock or pop music. Selections by artists such as Madonna and Queen not only motivated subjects, but also increased their moods and caused them to report that they gained more pleasure from exercising than other participants. So next time you head out for a jog or start up the treadmill, pump up the jams, and enjoy a boost in endurance and spirit!
