Are you getting ready to go out for a big dinner? The best way to prevent overeating during a night out is, surprisingly enough, to eat more! The trick is to prep yourself with calories before you even leave for the restaurant. One of my favorite ways to do this is to enjoy a delicious, nutritious smoothie an hour or two before the meal. Made with a base of low-fat yogurt, a smoothie will fill you up and keep you feeling full for the rest of the evening. At dinner, you won’t be tempted to eat more than you should, because you won’t be that hungry. Instead, you can enjoy a smaller portion of your meal. One word of caution, though: even the healthiest smoothies can cost you hundreds of calories. Just be sure you know what you’re getting yourself into. A 24 oz. smoothie that sets you back 600 calories probably isn’t worth it – but a lighter 16 oz., 250-cal treat may do the trick!
