Noticing more pink than usual? That’s because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In addition to self-checks and regular physician visits, you can do your part to help the cause by patronizing some of your favorite fitness companies. Here’s a list of some corporations partnering with non-profits in the race for the cure:
- New Balance will donate $1 million from its new “Lace Up For the Cure” line, which consists of 24 footwear, clothing, and accessory items. Fifteen percent of pink top sales and bra sales will be donated as well.
- Sporting goods manufacturer Wilson donates products to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Support their new “Hope” line of pink golf and tennis equipment and accessories.
- Trudeau has a nifty Cool-off hydration bottle. It offers the unbreakable awesomeness of a Nalgene with a sleek, pink design, twist lid, and pop-up straw. What more could you want out of a water bottle? Oh yeah, AND Trudeau is donating a portion (20 – 25 cents, depending on the model) of all proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
- Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – Check out the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s website for more information about the race or products you can purchase to support breast cancer research. The foundation has once again partnered with Better Homes and Gardens to produce a cookbook full of nutritious and delicious recipes, and it all benefits cancer research.
