Getting closer every day
published to
Well I *almost* feel like I am getting back on the saddle. I have lost 5lbs of bodyfat in the last month or so, and I think that is pretty much right on track. I don't know if I would want to lose much more than that, since it's not healthy (in my view) to lose more than 1-2 lbs a week, unless you are *very* overweight or are a pro bodybuilder (I don't fit into either scenario).

I keep forgeting to post, I'll get the hang of this soon! I was hoping that keeping track of my exercise routine would motivate me to work out regularly...
I'm finding it hard to stay on top of my strength training and pilates. I've been doing cardio regularly. Most days I do between 45-90 mins. usually walking in hilly areas. I'm finding that by the time I'm done cardio though I'm often too tired and unmotivated to do strength training.
Frustratioooon

Grrr... I am getting really frustrated. I really need to be working out more, but finding the time is just impossible lately. I manage to get in some (about 1hr) cardio every day, but my strength training is totally in the toilet. I don't know why it's so hard to find the time, but I guess when you are starting a new company and have a new baby, it's pretty tough.
Back on the Wagon

I have a long history of working out (been doing it for about 6 years now), but just as long of history of getting lazy and stopping for long periods of time. So I've decided to start blogging here to try and motivate myself to stick to it this time.

Last Few Days
published to
Hi all, it's been a few days, here's what I've been up to...
Monday-unplanned day off-was too tired to exercise, although I know that's a bad excuse!
Tuesday- 1hr.15 min. hill climb/descent walk
Triceps
-'skullcrushers' 3 sets @10 lbs
-close grip tricep bench- 4 sets @15lbs.
Wednesday-45 min hilly walk
-20 mins. pilates
My goal over the next week is to continue gaining strength and endurance and to be more consistent with my routine, especially the pilates that I miss some days...
bye for now! :-D
Few days of updates
published to
Well I can't even remember the last time I blogged, but I have been trying to keep up the working out even with the insane schedule. I wanted this blog to be more structured to follow my progress over the next 5 months as I lose 20 or so lbs of body fat, but I can see it's going to be tougher than it ever was before. I think the toughest part is going to be keeping a structured strength training regimen. The cardio seems pretty easy, just get out, walk/run/elliptical train or whatever.
So two days before yesterday (Saturday) I took "off" although it was an unplanned day off, so it wasn't earned or anything.
Lazy Weekend
published to
Hi all!
Yesterday was a lazy day....didn't exercise at all.
Today I went for a 45 minute walk in our neighbourhood and picked a street with a steady incline all of the way to the top.
Then I did biceps (I've decided to do 1 body part/day in addition to the pilates I do every second day). I'm just starting out again with weightlifting so am doing light weights. For the past year while I was pregnant as well as for a few months post-pregnancy, I have been doing some weight training, but have been using light weights and have not had a consistent routine.
Bicep workout:
4 sets bicep curls @ 10lbs
Took a Little Break..

This weekend I did not do my little work out, instead I took a "little Break". But I did get in some exercise, Lots of snow shoveling, the building of snow skate things, and walking around the house and a bit more I cant think of right now... But I'll get a good nights sleep tonight and continue doing my little work out practice throughout the week.

Well, I forgot to blog yesterday, but I DID do some exercising, even though it was just an hour of hiking/walking around the hills here. We do about a 5-6K jaunt in about an hour. It doesn't sound like much but the path entails about 160 meters in elevation change, so its basically like walking up and down about 50 flights of stairs as well.
Today was more of the same, except we did 1:20 mins. Still haven't done any strength training today OR YESTERDAY... my muscles are all going to atrophy and I'll be a homeostatic walking skeleton. I am going to try and squeeze in some strength training this evening. If I do I'll write down what I did later so I have something to track.

Post-pregnancy workout

Hello all, this is my first time blogging about anything so I'll try to keep it up!
So....I recently had a sweet little baby girl, and decided today to bring her swimming with some other moms. I haven't really been into any major training since having the baby, and have lost only 5 pounds of 'baby weight' so far, and I figured a lot of the other new moms would still be a bit heavy too. As I walked past all the bikini-clad, flat-stomached moms, I realized, somewhat embarassed, that I was wrong. So after getting depressed and having a mocha and treat at Starbucks, I decided that I need to seriously start working out again.
